Iceland 2014
Halla was an exchange student with Serge in Belluno (in the Dolomites, northern Italy) in 2005. They became friends. When Halla visited Serge in Australia, she stayed with us for some of the time and in return, promised to look after us should we ever visit Iceland - including free tickets on the whale-watching tours from Husavik, into Skjalfandi Bay. We did that in 2014. Halla met us at the Reykjavik airport, we hired a car and circumnavigated the amazing island that is Iceland, stayed at Halla’s grandmother’s cottage at the family property ‘Saltir’ near Husavik, and went whale-watching. All of that added up to a fabulous travel experience. This is a small selection of the photos we took.
